What do you mean by “intentional home”?

An intentional home is one that feels happy, healthy, and supports what you want for your life. People love this service, because it offers a completely different way of looking at your home and lifestyle. Time and again, I have witnessed clients start the session with a furrowed brow and end with sparkles in their eyes. My simple recommendations, based on principles of energy flow, are liberating. They offer you a fresh perspective that unlocks your motivation, creativity, and lifestyle aspirations. Creating a home you love is easier than you think.

Why do people schedule a consultation?

People call me for a variety of reasons. Some want to nurture family connection, start a new life chapter, or create a sense of beauty and calm in their home. Others’ needs are more targeted – decrease congestion in the kitchen, make the living room welcoming, or set-up a functional home office. We’ll work together to identify your unique intentions and goals. From there, I use my expertise in Feng Shui to devise ideas and solutions to bring them to life.

What if I don’t have a specific vision? All I know is that I don’t like the way my home feels.

That’s all you need to know. I’ll help you take it from there. During my complementary Needs Assessment, the vision of what you want — of what would bring you joy — always emerges.

How is your service different from an interior designer or professional organizer?

My aim is to help you create a space that not only looks good and functions well, but that reflects your lifestyle priorities, supports your hopes and dreams, and rejuvenates you. My approach incorporates interior design and organizing elements, but it is broader and deeper.

I address a wide range of factors. These include your intentions for the space, the role of clutter, lifestyle habits, environmental stressors, layout and arrangement, psychological barriers, and the interrelationship between different parts of your home. It’s fascinating stuff, and I love it all. There’s no other home service like it.

What happens at a consultation?

It starts with a phone conversation, during which we talk about your needs, hopes and dreams, and frustrations with your home. Once I’m onsite, we walk through the relevant parts of your home. From there, we dig into the specifics of improving your space. We work together the entire time — talking, brainstorming, and troubleshooting. At the end of your session, you receive a detailed write-up of my suggestions.

I’d be embarrassed to have you come!

You’re not alone. Many people feel that way at first. Please remember that I’m a professional, and I’m here to help, not judge. My services are confidential and focus on the potential of your space. Besides, I’m a real person, too, balancing a career, family, and a dog that sheds a lot! Creating an intentional home isn’t about creating a “perfect” home or living a “perfect” life. It’s about creating a home that feels good and makes you happy.

Who makes the changes you recommend?

You do. Although we sometimes do hands-on work to get things started, my role is to offer the expertise, direction, and inspiration. You then make the changes in the way that makes sense to you. At the end of your consultation, you receive a detailed write-up that you implement in you own timeframe.

Is a consultation going to snowball and lead to more expenses?

A consultation with me is purely informational; I’m not selling anything. My objective is to give you the best, unbiased information I can. For any changes I suggest, I encourage you to work with the items you already have. However, if you decide to make retail purchases or a major change, a consultation often saves you money; as you move forward, you have a clear vision of what you want, based on my recommendations. This can avoid costly mistakes.

Do you offer Feng Shui consultations, too?

Yes. I’m a certified Feng Shui consultant with over a decade of experience. A Feng Shui consultation includes a bagua assessment, adjustments and, as time allows, space clearings and blessings.

How can I learn more about your Intentional Home and Feng Shui offerings?

Just send me a quick email or request a Needs Assessment. We’ll have a complementary conversation about your needs, and I’ll help you determine if working together makes sense and if so, which consultation best meets your needs.
